Install and Installation staging tasks not available for an update

Problem

When viewing a list of updates, the install or installation staging actions are either not available or not selectable for a particular update.

Resolution

This will happen when the update is not known to be appropriate for any discovered system. If you know that the update should be appropriate for a discovered system, ensure that the system's software inventory has been collected and is current.

Once inventory is collected, the processing of the inventory can still take several minutes. The menu actions will not be available until after the inventory has been processed.
