Compliance issues not resolved after successful install of updates

This problem affects users of Update manager.

Problem

Compliance issues remain unresolved after successfully installing updates.

Investigation

First, check that the automatic inventory collection completed successfully against the out-of-compliance systems on which the updates were installed. If the inventory collection completed successfully, check to see if the compliance job failed. You can do this by following these steps:
  1. In the IBM® Flex System Manager Web interface navigation area, click System Status and Health.
  2. Click Event log.
  3. Type Compliance in the search box and click Search.
  4. Look for a Compliance Failed event associated with the out-of-compliance system's property page.
You can also look for a failed Update Compliance job activation in the out-of-compliance system's property page. Follow these steps:
  1. In the IBM Flex System Manager Web interface navigation area, click Resource Explorer.
  2. Select the All Systems group.
  3. Navigate to the out-of-compliance system and click on it to view its properties.
  4. Select the Applied Activities tab for the system.
  5. Click the latest Update Compliance job activation to view its status.

Resolution

Collect inventory against the out-of-compliance system to activate compliance. When the Update Compliance job completes successfully, the compliance issues should be resolved.
