Removing the SD Media Adapter for System x

Use this information to remove an optional SD Media Adapter for System x (Adapter for SD Media or SD adapter).

Before you remove the Adapter for SD Media, complete the following steps:
  1. Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the compute node is installed in a chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
  3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward you.
  4. Obtain a #1 Phillips screwdriver.

To remove the Adapter for SD Media, complete the following steps.

  1. Remove the cover (see Removing the compute node cover).
  2. If an I/O expansion adapter is installed over the Adapter for SD Media, remove it (see Removing an I/O expansion adapter).
  3. Remove any SD cards that are installed in the Adapter for SD Media (see Removing an SD card).
  4. Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two captive screws that secure the Adapter for SD Media.
  5. Rotate the end of the Adapter for SD Media with the captive screws up; then, remove the adapter from the compute node.
If you are instructed to return the Adapter for SD Media, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
