Removing the USB enablement kit

Use this information to remove the USB enablement kit.

Before you begin

Before you remove the USB enablement kit, complete the following steps:
  1. Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the compute node is installed in a chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
  3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward you.

Procedure

To remove the USB enablement kit, complete the following steps.

  1. Remove the cover (see Removing the compute node cover).
  2. Remove any USB flash drives that are installed in the USB connectors (see Removing the USB flash drive).
  3. Disconnect the USB cable from the system board.
  4. Release the retention tab from the side of the chassis and remove the USB enablement kit from the compute node.
  5. Install an air baffle over the DIMM connectors.
    Attention: To maintain proper system cooling, do not operate the compute node without air baffles installed over the DIMM connectors.

If you are instructed to return the USB enablement kit, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
