Use these instructions to install a replacement control panel assembly in the storage expansion node.
Before you install the control panel assembly, read Safety and Installation guidelines.
To install the control panel assembly, complete the following steps.
Attention: Make sure that the drive drawer is supported when it is open. The weight of installed drives can cause the storage expansion node assembly to be unstable when the drive drawer is open.
- With the drive drawer open approximately 20 cm (8 in.), insert the tab on the end of the control panel assembly into the slot on the inside of the bezel; then, press the other end of the assembly until it snaps into place. You might have to use a flashlight to see the slot on the inside of the bezel.
- Connect the control panel assembly cable to the connector on the drawer. The connector is keyed to prevent incorrect connection.
After you install the control panel assembly, complete the following steps:
- Close the drive drawer.
- Install the cover on the storage expansion node.
- Install the storage expansion node assembly into the chassis. See Installing the storage expansion node in an Flex System Enterprise Chassis for instructions.
