You must consider environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and physical space when you plan for your chassis and rack installation. As you prepare the physical location for the rack, it is important to consider the power, cooling, noise, weight, and space requirements for the rack cabinet and its components.

Power considerations
The Lenovo Flex System chassis efficiently uses 200 - 240 V ac, three-phase, data center power. Each chassis can contain up to six, single-phase power supplies, which you can connect to single-phase or three-phase power distribution units (PDUs). Depending on the three-phase PDU that you use, you can connect one or two power supplies to each phase to evenly balance the load.
Cooling considerations
It is important to maintain sufficient temperature and humidity control in the data center environment to prevent thermal failures.
Noise considerations
The actual sound-pressure levels in your installation depend on a variety of factors, including the number of chassis in the installation, the size, materials, and configuration of the room where the racks are installed, the noise levels from other equipment, the room ambient temperature, and employees' locations in relation to the equipment. When you plan for the noise level in your environment, remember to include the noise from the chassis fans. Several fan modules might be required to cool the chassis, and the fans can generate a measurable noise level, depending on the type and number of devices that are installed.
Weight considerations
Racks and floors, especially raised floors, have maximum weight load limits. Consider the weight limitations of the rack and the flooring underneath it before you install the chassis. A fully configured chassis in a rack weighs approximately 225.6 kg (497.4 lb).
Space considerations
It is important to evaluate the space requirements for your data center environment and create an accurate floor plan that you can use during the installation of your Lenovo Flex System chassis and rack components.
