An alert is a message or other indication
that signals an event or an impending event. Alerts are generated
in compute nodes or switches and passed through the CMM to the IBM Flex System Manager.
From the
IBM Flex System Manager, you can specify
that you want to be notified through a variety of methods, such as
e-mail or pager. For more information about setting up alert notification
from the
IBM Flex System Manager management node, see
Events, filters, and actions in event automation
plans (event
actions).
Note: When choosing to set up alert notifications on the IBM Flex System Manager, you can specify
whether you want to receive alerts from compute nodes, from the CMM, or from the IBM Flex System Manager. Consider setting
up alert notifications to be received from the IBM Flex System Manager because it
will include any alerts generated from the devices being managed by
the IBM Flex System Manager.
For more information about viewing events, see Diagnosing a problem.
For information about the events that can be displayed
in the CMM event log, see the CMM event log events. For information
about hardware events that can be displayed in the IBM Flex System Manager event log,
