Use this information to remove the CMOS battery.
Before you begin
Before you remove
the CMOS battery, complete the following
steps:
- Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
- If the compute node is installed in a chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
- Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward you.
Procedure
To remove the CMOS battery, complete the following steps:
- Remove the cover (see Removing the compute node cover).
- Locate the CMOS battery on the system board (see System-board connectors).
- If a cover is over the CMOS battery, remove the cover.

Pivot the CMOS battery toward the middle of the compute
node.
- Lift the CMOS battery from the socket.
