You can view the IMM and POST events through the Setup
utility.
To view the POST event log or system-event log, complete
the following steps:
- Connect a keyboard, monitor, and mouse to the console breakout cable and
connect the console breakout cable to
the compute node.
Attention: - The KVM connectors on the upper and lower compute nodes are rotated
180-degrees from each other. Make sure that the connector on the console
breakout cable is correctly oriented before connecting it.
- Use only the console breakout cable that
comes with the compute node. Attempting to connect other console breakout cable types
might damage the console breakout cable and
the compute node.
- Turn on the compute node.
- When the prompt <F1> Setup is displayed,
press F1. If you have set both a power-on password and an administrator
password, you must type the administrator password to view the event
logs.
- Select System Event Logs and use
one of the following procedures:
- To view the POST event log, select POST Event Viewer.
- To view the system-event log, select System Event Log.
Important: In event messages that reference
a specific Flex System x222 compute node, upper or lower, 'node 1'
indicates the lower compute node and 'node 2' indicates the upper
compute node.
