Removing the front handle

Use this information to remove the front handle from the lower compute node.

Attention: Do not install the Flex System x222 Compute Node into the chassis with the front handle removed.
Before you remove the front handle, complete the following steps:
  1. Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the Flex System x222 Compute Node is installed in a chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
  3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface with the upper compute node side down, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward the left.

To remove the front handle, complete the following steps.

  1. Locate the screw that attaches the handle to the lower compute node.
  2. Using a T15 Torx screwdriver, remove the screw from the front handle and save the screw in a safe place. Use the same screw when you install a front handle.
If you are instructed to return the front handle, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
