Removing the solid state drive mounting sleeve

Use this information to remove the solid state drive (SSD) mounting sleeve.

Before you remove the SSD mounting sleeve, read Safety and Installation guidelines.

About this task

The SSD mounting sleeve is available in the optional Flex System flash kit.

Procedure

To remove the solid state drive (SSD) mounting insert, complete the following steps:

remove the solid state drive

  1. Remove the solid state drive bezel.
  2. Remove the solid state drives (see Removing a solid state drive).
  3. Gently pry open the release latch on the right side of the SSD mounting sleeve.
  4. Slide the SSD mounting sleeve out of the compute node.

What to do next

If you are instructed to return the SSD mounting sleeve, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
