Viewing capacity utilization

Beginning with IBM® Flex System Manager version 1.3.0, the management software enables you to view capacity and utilization information about the management node. The IBM Flex System Manager Capacity Utilization component shows management node resource utilization (processor, memory, disk space, disk I/O) and management capacity utilization (active users and managed endpoints).

The IBM FSM Capacity Utilization view in the web interface enables you to see the utilization of the management node. From this utility view, you can check for additional management node capacity and determine if current usage is exceeding capacity of the management node.

Capacity is calculated and displayed with a set of gauges (green, yellow, and red indicators) that provide a quick visual reference. You can use the colored gauges to compare the actual management node usage to the potential resource usage and capacity utilization that the management node is designed to support. IBM FSM Capacity Utilization gauges are represented for managed endpoints, the number of active users and management node resource usage.

To open the IBM FSM Capacity Utilization view from the IBM FSM Explorer, click Utilities > IBM FSM Capacity Utilization.
