Performing an install or uninstall fails when using one
or more system groups
or update groups.
Problem
The
Install or Uninstall task using system groups or
update groups does not succeed due to missing update requirements
or dependencies.
Explanation
The
Install wizard and Uninstall wizards do not resolve group membership
until their tasks runs. Group membership is not resolved at the time
that the wizard is run. This means that the task may fail because
information about updates, such as: update requirements, manual downloads,
manual installation, and system restarts cannot
be determined at the time that the Install or Uninstall wizard is
run.
Resolution
While
using the Install or Uninstall wizard, select each update to be installed
individually instead of selecting the update group. This will cause
the wizard to obtain the necessary information about update requirements.
