The Flex System Fabric SI4093 System Interconnect Module enables simplified integration of Flex System products into your existing networking infrastructure. The SI4093 requires no management for most data center environments, so it can reduce the number of management points and eliminate the need to configure each networking device or individual port. This module provides a low latency, loop-free interface that does not rely upon spanning tree protocols, so it also eliminates one of the greatest deployment and management complexities of a traditional switch. The SI4093 offers administrators a simplified deployment experience while it maintains the performance of intra-chassis connectivity.
The base model of the SI4093 provides 24 ports that are arranged as fourteen 10 Gb internal ports and ten 10 Gb small-form-factor pluggable plus (SFP+) external ports. With the optional licensing for pay-as-you-grow scalability, you easily and cost-effectively can scale this system-interconnect module to support up to forty two 10 Gb internal ports, fourteen 10 Gb SFP+ external ports, and two 40 Gb quad small form-factor pluggable plus (QSFP+) external ports.
- Features on Demand upgrades are available for the base model as
follows. (You must install Upgrade 1 before you install Upgrade 2.)
- Upgrade 1 supports a total of 46 ports that are arranged as twenty eight 10 Gb internal ports, ten 10 Gb SFP+ external ports, and two 40 Gb QSFP+ external ports.
- Upgrade 2 supports a total of 64 ports that are arranged as forty two 10 Gb internal ports, fourteen 10 Gb SFP+ external ports, and two 40 Gb QSFP+ external ports.
- Based on the Switch Partition (SPAR) architecture, which allows clients to virtualize the module with partitions that isolate communications for multi-tenancy environments.
- Supports up to 32 VLANs per interconnect module SPAR partition, with VLAN numbers 1 - 4095. (VLAN 4095 is used for the management module’s connection only.)
- Supports Ethernet, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE).
- Provides server-to-server communication at layer 2 and can support autonegotiation to 1 Gb.
