Low-profile PCIe riser

The PCIe risers connect the PCIe adapters to the PCIe Expansion Node system board. The low-profile PCIe riser has two slots for low-profile PCIe adapters and is encased in a mechanical structure that supports the adapters.

The low-profile PCIe riser supports two PCIe 8x connectors with 8x PCIe lanes to each connector. The low-profile PCIe riser accepts low-profile adapters only.

Note: The low-profile PCIe riser must be removed from the PCIe Expansion Node to install the PCIe adapters; then, with the adapters installed in the riser, the riser is reinstalled in the PCIe Expansion Node.

See System board connectors for the location of the low-profile PCIe riser connector.

See PCIe adapter slots for more information about the PCIe Expansion Node adapter slots.

For a list of supported optional devices, see the IBM ServerProven website for your compute nodes machine type and model number.

For current information about the PCIe adapters that are available for your compute node, see the Network devices information page.
