The CN4054 and CN4054R 10 Gb Virtual Fabric adapters are converged network adapters (CNA) that are designed for use in Lenovo X Architecture compute nodes.
These network adapters have four physical ports and a default configuration of four virtual Ethernet ports per physical port (16 virtual Ethernet ports). The virtual ports can provide vNIC1 support with the Flex System EN4093, EN4093R, CN4093, and SI4093 devices, or vNIC2 (switch agnostic) support independent of the scalable-switch feature. If you install an EN4091 10 Gb Ethernet pass-thru module in the chassis, you can use the UEFI utility to configure the four physical ports on this adapter as single, 10 Gb NICs.
You also can purchase licenses for these adapters to enable Internet Small Computer System Interface (ISCSI) or Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) capabilities through the Features on Demand offerings.
