Expansion nodes provide a cost-effective way for you to increase and customize the capabilities of your compute nodes.
Expansion nodes support a wide variety of industry-standard Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), network, storage, and graphics adapters. They enable you to customize and balance your specific workload requirements by increasing the capabilities and utilization of your existing compute node resources.
Using dedicated connectors, the expansion and compute nodes are coupled together and installed horizontally in the chassis.
