Removing a scalability and performance connector

Use this information to remove a scalability and performance connector.

Before you remove a scalability and performance connector, complete the following steps:
  1. Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the compute node is operating, shut down the operating system.
  3. Press the power button to turn off the compute node (see Turning off the compute node for more information).
Note: When you press the power-control button on any compute node in a single partition (controlled by one operating system), all compute nodes in the single partition will be turned on or turned off.
The information in this topic applies to the optional scalability and performance connectors available for the compute node:

To remove a scalability and performance connector, complete the following steps:
Removing a scalability connector

  1. Press the blue release button to release the handle and disengage the scalability and performance connector from the compute node.
  2. Grip the handle and pull the scalability and performance connector from the compute node.
Note: Make sure that the handle is in the open position before disconnecting the connector from the compute node.

If you are instructed to return the scalability and performance connector, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

See Working with scalable partitions for information about configuring, modifying, and deleting scalable partitions.

Important: With the scalability connector removed, each compute node must be configured for standalone operation.
