Changing IBM Flex System Manager management node and CMM IP addresses

To change both the IBM® Flex System Manager management node and Chassis Management Module (CMM) IP addresses, make sure that you follow the correct procedure to ensure that the management software can manage the chassis after you configure the network settings.

To unmanage the chassis, change management network IP address, change CMM IP addresses, and re-manage the chassis, complete the following steps:
  1. Prepare to unmanage all managed chassis. Complete the procedures in Unmanaging a chassis, as applicable to your environment, to remove compute node operating system endpoints, virtual server operating system endpoints, and virtual servers from management.
  2. Unmanage the chassis on the Management Domain page in the IBM Flex System Manager management software web interface:
    1. From the Home page, click the Plug-ins tab; then, click the Management Domain link under IBM Flex System Manager®.
    2. Select the box for each managed chassis.
    3. Click Unmanage.
  3. Change the management node IP address (Eth0, or the management network IP address):
    1. From the Home page, click the Administration tab.
    2. Under Configuration tasks, click Configure Network. The Network Configuration wizard opens.
    3. Select the management network and change the settings in the wizard for the new IP address.
    4. After you complete the network configuration changes, click Finish.
  4. Restart the management node.
  5. For each chassis for which you want to change the IP address, complete the following steps:
    1. Log in to the CMM web interface.
    2. From the Home page, click Mgt Module Management > Network. The Network Protocol Properties page opens.
    3. Change the IP address; then, click Apply.
    4. Restart the CMM.
  6. Re-manage the chassis in the IBM Flex System Manager management software web interface:
    1. From the Management Domain page, click Discover New Chassis. Each chassis and CMM IP address that you reconfigured appears in the table with Unmanaged in the Status column.
    2. Select the box for each chassis; then, click Manage.
